Job Description
• Review Design Consultants' prepared Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and submit comments and or addenda as necessary
• Prepare and submit Bill of Quantities of in-house projects
• Prepare and submit cost estimates of proposed projects to the Head of Technical & Design Management
• Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) to Design Consultants
• Review and submit report of Variation Orders from Contractors as referred by Project Management to the Technical & Design Management Team
• Review drawings for details and specifications necessary for the preparation of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
• Take-off quantities from approved drawings for use in the preparation of Bill of Quantities
• Preparing Bill of Quantities of in-house projects and or reviewing Consultant’s Bill of Quantities, which list the complete of scope works of respective projects, are indispensable element or part of documents necessary for soliciting Tenders and the priced BOQ as part of Contract Agreements
• Reviewing drawings and specifications with reference to company concepts and or requirements will accurately define scope of works that will be further described in the BOQ, which are all necessary to eliminate contract disputes and minimize variation orders
• Reviewing Variation Orders by the Technical & Design Management Team eliminates unwarranted additional cost and or at least minimizes additional cost of projects resulting to savings for the Company
• Submitted cost estimates of proposed projects are necessary for budgeting and decision making by higher Company management
• Request for Proposals (RFPs) to Design Consultants are necessary to streamline tender submissions and maintain parity, regularity, uniformity of the submission procedures, the requirements to achieve valid submission and equal basis for evaluation of tenders thereafter
• Accuracy of issued Bill of Quantities is of utmost importance in the proper execution of projects, and eliminates Contract disputes and in incurring unnecessary losses for the Company
• Accuracy of submitted cost estimates is necessary for proper budgeting, and avoid requesting for additional budgets and or abnormal unused budgeted amounts
• Fair assessment of submitted Variation Orders (VOs) will save unwarranted additional cost to the Company and will give justice to all parties
• Request for Proposal (RFP) to Design Consultants must clearly define scope of the works in order to eliminate disputes and to have Tender Package that describes fully and correctly the outcome of the respective projects
• Communicate and follow up with project proponents and or end-users, Project Managers and indirectly with Contractors or Consultants, Head and Co-Members of the Technical & Design Management Team, other ALJ Lands Tatweer Jameel Department Heads, and higher management and all project stakeholders if necessary in the performance of the subject Role Title
• Perform site visits to investigate project requirements, and information regarding submitted variation order/s that necessitates communication with property Owner’s representative, project proponents and or end-users, Project Managers, Contractors, Consultants, etc
• Attend and or arrange meetings that involves the performance of the subject Role Title
• Expected to submit Cost Estimates, prepared and or reviewed BOQs, reviewed VOs, RFPs, etc as required by the Head of the Technical & Design Management, that are at least of standard accuracy
